Hello! It’s already day 3 of the Spring 10×10 challenge! Can you believe it? How are you finding the challenge so far?
I’m quite comfortable at the moment, however after checking the weather again (it’s very fickle in the UK!) for our trip next week I’m starting to think perhaps I should have included a different bottom option rather than a skirt? But hey ho, it’s all a learning curve right? And who knows, I may still decide to swap it out for something a little more weather appropriate if I feel it’s necessary.
So, outfit 3!
Today has been a pretty mixed bag weather-wise. It’s gone from being cold and windy and a light rain, to sunny for about an hour or two around lunchtime, to being dark and grey and cold again later this afternoon. You can never rely on UK weather, am I right?!
To counter this, I decided on simple options that were easy to layer. You can’t go wrong with a basic white tee and denim! Today has consisted of lunch with friends followed by a chilled evening at home. This outfit can easily work for both, the tan shoes I felt dressed it up a little for going out – but the cardigan, aside from being ideal in the wind, is cosy and familiar and perfect for snuggling up on the sofa with a large cup of tea this evening!
Style notes: It’s all about playing with proportions in this outfit. When I have a longer outer layer like this cardigan, I usually prefer my top tucked in, and usually into high waisted jeans. I went for the front tuck for a nice and slouchy look whilst still having a little definition. Plus the lightwash jeans and cognac open toe shoes take this look away from being too autumnal and instead sway slightly towards being a Spring outfit.
Focus on: Longline cardigan
I recently got this cardigan to add to my Spring wardrobe. Having not owned one previously I felt it would be the perfect addition for layering through Spring. So far it’s certainly proving it’s worth! It’s a wool mix (mostly man-made fibres) but it’s super warm and great for cooler days like today. Plus the lovely cool grey colour is perfect to fit into my wardrobe. A nice little extra detail is the buttons – they’re wooden and engraved with a dot work pattern, which I just think is a lovely bonus!
I’d love to hear how your challenge is going! Are you taking part? Do you think you will take part next time? And is it your first 10×10 or are you quite experience in them? Does it ever become easy, or does that defy the point?
See you tomorrow for look number 4!
