Bohemian elements

cami / kimono (old) – similar / jeans / loafers

Remember my ‘haulternative’? You’ll recognise this gorgeous kimono and white cami top from that, also I prematurely pulled this cami out of storage for my Spring Capsule (when I shopped my wardrobe for Spring) only to put it back into it’s box pretty quickly afterwards.

However, it’s back for Summer! And this time it’ll stay out, promise!

I bought this kimono last year off eBay (it’s originally from Zara, FYI) and I just love all the detail on it. Beading, sequins and tassels? Sounds like it could be overkill, but in a neutral palette of black and beige this kimono complements many of my outfits, and it’s a quick and easy way of adding a bit of piz-azz to an otherwise plain and simple look.

When Summer rolls around, I suddenly come over all boho, and am easily drawn to off the shoulder styles, beading, tassels and lace. I think there’s an element of this style in my wardrobe year round, but Summer is when it goes all out. And as someone who doesn’t really like to bare much flesh, the boho style lends itself well to this with some lovely lightweight loose and flowy pieces to keep me cool throughout the warmer months.

For this outfit I kept a plain monochrome palette and let the one statement piece do all the talking. I tucked the cami in and cuffed my jeans once – a nifty trick to make black skinnies feel a little more summery! I love delicate layered necklaces with outfits like this, however my jewellery collection is very minimal and I actually don’t really own any. Ethical and budget friendly suggestions would be welcomed : )

Do you have elements of different trends in your wardrobe? And like me, does one shine through more in a particular season? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!
