Summer 10×10 | Outfit 6

Hi, hope you had a great weekend!

Wow, today’s a hot one! Highs of 26°C and glorious sunshine, so I’m rocking this strappy vest and denim skirt combo, perfect for keeping cool in these temperatures.

The decision to include this skirt in my 10 pieces wasn’t particularly an easy one to make. I absolutely love the style of it, but I’ve always had issues with my legs and baring them during the summer months. I’m just not very confident in this area, which is why in previous years I’ve covered up and basically worn jeans all throughout Summer (and therefore spent the entire Summer sweating profusely!).

But this year, I’m sure we’ve had a lot more hotter days than we’ve had for a while. So I decided to include the skirt in this challenge to hopefully gain more confidence and find some cool ways to style it. This outfit is definitely a winner in my books!

Fit note: This skirt runs small and super short. I sized up so I could wear it slightly lower down on my waist, and not flash anyone!

Style notes: As I’m going out of my comfort zone with the skirt, I’ve stuck to a monochrome palette – which is very much in my comfort zone. I actually love the simplicity of this outfit, it’s not too fussy and that’s a big winner on hotter days like today. For a little bit of detail, I added my western belt for some definition and layered a couple of dainty necklaces for a bohemian vibe, especially when paired with the fedora as well. Again, an old favourite – that easy and effortless front tuck works so nicely here for a casual and relaxed feel.

So there we have it, outfit 6 of the Summer 10×10 – cellulite, insect bites and all! : )

How is your 10×10 challenge going? Any pieces you’ve included to try and step out of your comfort zone or gain confidence when you wear them like me? I’d love to hear!
